Earth Day is a day to give back to Mother Nature for all her wonders. So why not celebrate in style like any other holiday and throw a Green party?? What's a green party you may ask, well in my opinion its putting the Eco-chic in loving earth and making an environmental step in the right direction. Here are some ways to throw your Eco-chic party:
- Turn the lights down or off and set the mood with some candles, not only aromatic and energy saving, but also money saving!
- Decorate your house in Green and woodsy colors or anything that has to do with nature, using empty wine bottles to place flowers or herbs in(locally grown). I also love the idea of incorporating bamboo serving trays and containers, since its a natural renewable resource.
- Try to prepare fresh easy meals, that don't require too much energy or your valuable time.
- Serve organic wine and flavored organic beer.
- Have guests write down a "Green Tip" and have the guests share there ideas, getting people to mingle and learn something!
- Purchase reusubale grocery bags and tie a ribbon around it and attach a packet of seeds as a great and cheap gift for guests to take home.
- Biter Margarita
Serves 1
Ingredients:
(local and organic whenever possible)
• 2 oz Casa Noble certified organic tequila
• 1.5 oz Madhava Light Agave Nectar (liquid sweetness tapped from the agave cactus)
• 1 oz organic lime juice (get limes from your local farmers market)
• Splash of club soda (make your own and avoid the plastic bottles)
• Organic sugar or salt
Directions:
Rub the rim of your recycled margarita glass with lime juice, and dip it in sugar or salt. Put the rest of the ingredients in a mixer and shake 'em up, then pour straight into glasses or over ice.
